अनुभव इंसान की जिंदगी का वो पल जिसमें वह कुछ सही या गलत करके सीखता है या पच्छताता है। वैसे तो अनुभव को किसी एक परिभाषा में नहीं बाँधा जा सकता पर इसके बिना मनुष्य या इस संसार में उपस्थित प्रत्येक जीव अधूरा है। सभी इस संसार में प्रारंभ से अंत तक हर क्षण कुछ न कुछ अपने जीवन में अनुभव करते हैं। कभी ये अनुभव रोचकदार होते हैं, कभी ये पीड़ादायक, कभी लोग अपनी गलतियां मानकर उनसे सीखते हैं तो कभी नए-नए प्रयोग कर कुछ जीवन को बतलाने वाले अनुभव लेते हैं।
मनुष्य के जीवन की विभिन्न अवस्थाओं में जीवन अनुभव का महत्व। उदाहरण सहित :–
1.) बालक : इस अवस्था में इंसान अपने सारे प्रारम्भिक कार्य करता है तथा सीखता है। क्या करने से क्या होता है परंतु इकाई रूप में जैसे खेलते-खेलते चोट लगना तथा इनकी कुछ कार्य से दूर रहने का अनुभव सीखता है।
2.) किशोर : इस अवस्था में इंसान में बहुत से बदलाव आते हैं और सबसे ज्यादा इसी अवस्था में अनुभव करता है। इस अवस्था में मनुष्य या तो अनुभव कर अच्छी संगति में रहकर कुछ सीख जाता है या बुरा अनुभव बुरी संगति में रहकर बिगड़ जाता है।
3.) प्रौढ : इस अवस्था में अधिकतर मनुष्य अपने अनुभवों के आधार पर अपने जीवन में एक सकारात्मकता लाते हैं और अपनी गलतियों से सीखते हैं।
4.) वयस्क : यह मनुष्य के अनुभव की वह अवस्था होती है जिसमें वह पूरे जीवन का चुनाव करता है, अपने भविष्य तथा अपनी जिम्मेदारी को समझता है। इसमे वह नए अनुभव करता है, अपने बारे में सोचना छोड़कर अपनों और अपनी जिम्मेदारियों के बारे में सोचता है।
5.) वृद्ध : यह अवस्था उदहारण होती है सभी के लिए की अनुभव से मनुष्य का जीवन कितना प्रभावित होता है जो अपने अनुभव से अपना जीवन सवार लेता है। वह अपनी पीढियों के लिए उदहारण इस अवस्था में बनता है।
